An over sink dish rack can save a lot of counter space, but fit matters. Before choosing a rack, measure your sink width, faucet height, and the clearance above your counter. These three numbers help you pick a rack that sits securely and gives you enough room to wash dishes comfortably.
This guide explains what to measure before buying a Pusdon over sink dish drying rack.
Measure the inside width of your sink from left to right. This is the most important number for an adjustable over sink rack.
| Sink width | Fit result |
|---|---|
| Under 26" | Too narrow for the 26"-37.5" model |
| 26"-37.5" | Fits the adjustable 2-tier model |
| 34"-44.5" | Consider the larger 3-tier model |
| Over 44.5" | Check product dimensions carefully before buying |
Measure from the countertop to the highest point of your faucet. If the faucet is too tall, it may touch the rack or make washing dishes uncomfortable.
For the 26"-37.5" Pusdon model, the faucet should be 16.5" or lower.
If your faucet has a pull-down sprayer, check whether it can still move comfortably after the rack is installed.
If you have cabinets above the sink, measure from the countertop to the bottom of the cabinet.
For the 26"-37.5" Pusdon model, at least 28" of clearance is recommended.
If your sink is under a window instead of a cabinet, check window trim, shelves, or any other items above the sink.
An over sink rack sits on the counter around the sink. Make sure there is enough flat counter space on both sides for the rack feet or suction cups.
Look for anything that may block the rack, such as a soap dispenser, water filter faucet, window trim, low cabinet, outlet, shelf, towel bar, or large faucet handle.
If the area around the sink is crowded, choose the most compact rack that fits your measurements.
| Kitchen situation | Suggested direction |
|---|---|
| Small apartment kitchen | Adjustable 2-tier over sink rack |
| Wider sink or more dishes | 3-tier over sink rack |
| Very limited counter space | Wall mounted dish rack |
| Need extra counter shelf space | Microwave oven rack |
| Missing holder or accessory | Replacement parts |
Choose a rack whose adjustable width matches your sink width. You should also check faucet height and cabinet clearance, because width alone does not guarantee a good fit.
Measure the inside width of your sink from left to right, then measure from the countertop to the top of your faucet. If you have cabinets above the sink, measure from the countertop to the bottom of the cabinet.
It can fit some double sinks if the total sink width falls within the rack's adjustable range and there is enough counter space for the rack feet. Always measure the full usable width before buying.
If your faucet is taller than the product's recommended clearance, the rack may not fit comfortably. Consider a different rack style, such as a wall mounted rack or a countertop organizer.
Choose a 2-tier rack for compact kitchens and everyday dish loads. Choose a 3-tier rack if your sink is wider and you need more vertical storage for plates, bowls, cups, and utensils.
You may not need cabinet clearance, but you should still check window trim, shelves, blinds, or anything else above and behind the sink.
